Kristýna Svobodová: From Ballet to Building Her Own Studio Network
In the new episode, we invited Kristýna Svobodová a former professional dancer from the National Theatre Brno, who is now successfully building her own yoga and pilates studios along with a strong movement-focused community. Kristýna shares her journey from a dance conservatory through the fitness world to yoga, which has become not only her profession but also her life path. Today, she leads a team of dozens of people, organizes events and retreats, and develops projects for future instructors. In the interview, she opens up topics such as entrepreneurship, team leadership, and balancing work with family life. She also shares her perspective on discipline, intuition, and why movement is more than just physical activity. The interview is now available on Spotify and YouTube.
NEWTON University is a Co-organiser of the EAI Mobility, IoT and Smart Cities 2026 Conference
NEWTON University is involved in the organisation of the international conference Mobility, IoT and Smart Life & Business & Education 2026, which will take place in two weeks’ time at the end of March. The conference was originally planned to be held in Dubai, but due to the current political situation, it has been moved to an online format. The event brings together experts from academia and industry in the fields of intelligent mobility and smart cities.
In this episode of the ÚSPEŠNÍ podcast, we welcomed Věra Husáková, who has nearly twenty years of leadership experience in healthcare and has long contributed to the development of senior care in the Czech Republic. As the Operational Director of SeneCura, she led 17 facilities with a capacity of 2,300 beds and a team of 1,400 employees. In the conversation, we discussed managing large organizations, balancing economics with quality of care, and modern leadership in social services. Our graduate Zuzana Ševčíková has published a book titled Re: E-mailing, který funguje (Re: Emailing That Works). It is the first Czech publication to explore email marketing in real depth. The book is based on both practical experience and academic foundations, offering concrete strategies that help companies increase their revenue sustainably. NEWTON University & Gorilla Gym: Train Right Next to Campus
Studies, networking, and now a place to blow off steam. NEWTON University has partnered with Gorilla Gym Prague (Entrance No. 8), a space focused on MMA, functional training and conditioning. Thanks to this partnership, NEWTON University students and staff can benefit from discounted entry and services.
Leadership is not about words, but about actions. You can talk about it endlessly, teach it in lectures and rehearse it in model situations. But its true nature only reveals itself in the moment when a person must take responsibility and act.
Ondřej Průcha, our lecturer and CEO of Svoboda & Průcha, is an example of such a leader. Together with him, we are organising a fundraiser to purchase an ambulance for frontline areas in Ukraine. This ambulance will not sit idle in a garage – it will be deployed where every minute decides between life and death. Join us in turning responsibility into real help.
We have moved the Brno campus of NEWTON University and Vysoká škola STING. From the new academic year 2025/2026 you will find us in the Machova Building in the Technology Park. Studying at NEWTON was a great experience for me. I truly enjoyed my follow-on Master’s degree here, especially as I could compare it with my Bachelor’s studies at a state university. This means that the prestigious international award is now accessible not only to our university students but also to young people aged 13–24 from the wider community. Between the Slopes and the Lecture Notes: Bára Nováková Heads from NEWTON to the Olympics Games
Barbora Nováková, a third-year student at the Brno campus of NEWTON University, shows that elite sport and higher education don’t have to compete with each other. The alpine skier secured her place at the upcoming Winter Olympic Games at the very last moment. Yet between training runs at speeds of up to 130 km/h, she still finds time to work on her bachelor’s thesis and think about her future in business.

Sailing is our passion! Yachting is our university sport and everyone is welcome. Since 2011, we’ve been organising our own regatta, the NEWTON CUP, in Croatia.
